The recent decision by the Supreme Court to ask the lower courts to review Little Sisters of the Poor v. Burwell, a case to determine if religious ministries and nonprofits must comply with the Obamacare contraception mandate, is a promising win for the Little Sisters' homes in Ohio and across the country. Their attorneys called the Supreme Court's decision a "game-changer," and I couldn't agree more.

The Sisters deserve an end to this ordeal and the peace of mind that they can continue to serve the poor and elderly without being forced to pay up to $70 million in government fines or violate their religious beliefs by complying with the U.S. Health and Human Services mandate. It is my hope, and certainly the Sisters' prayer, that the lower courts rule to allow them to carry out their ministry and service.

This is about defending religious liberty and our founding principles. It is about eliminating a heavy burden that the Obama administration is forcing on servant leaders in our communities. And, it is about ensuring the People, not the government, determine how we live in accordance with our faith.
